Weeks 29 & 30…. 15th to 26th of February

During this fortnight much work has taken place. The plastering, carpentry and second fix electrics have nearly been completed  in the Barn and Milking Parlour and outside the Landscaping of the garden and paddock started.

Landscaping

John Cleary of John Cleary Fencing and Groundworks arrived on Monday the 15th to start the landscaping of the garden and also the installation of the new drive.

His Landscaping contract includes Post and Rail fencing, Close Board fencing, Paving, Lawn, Drainage, Concrete drive with Brick and grnaite set edging and the soft landscaping adjacent to all.

The following videos and photos that follow show the progress of the landscaping made across the first 2 weeks.

The connection of the foul drainage has now been made between the inspection chamber next to the barn and the chamber adjacent to the septic tank. The two surface water connections have also been made to the soak away chamber in the paddock using flexible couplers

The oak weatherboarding has been finished around and over the large oak frame to the NW elevation:

Flu Installation

The Flu serving the wood burner has been installed. The contractor needs to return as the tiling has not been completed to my satisfaction on the barn hip and also the internal plate still has the manufacturers sticker on it and the timber blocks need cutting back.

Insulation and Plastering

Colin has been assisting Adam and Steve of S & A Plastering and Building with the installation of the insulation prior to boarding.

Steve and Adam are working very hard to complete the plastering by the end of the 2nd week leaving only bits to do and a clean up of the beams.

Steve and Adam are always first to arrive and last to leave. I highly recommend them to anybody looking for a quality plastering job completed by two lovely blokes.

Second Fix Electrics

Paul and Dorian from Electricare Ltd have made a start on the 2nd fix electrics. The start with locating the down-light feeds in the kitchen and hall ceiling. Dorian used a lazer to mark the locations on the ceiling. He made himself a bit too comfortable it appears……

Dorian (on the floor) and Paul from Electricare Ltd…. a lazer is used to mark the locations of the down lights in the kitchen. Lying on the floor to do this is perfectly normal! Paul looks on…a penny for his thoughts.
